The Series
Yamato Nadeshike Shinsihenge (aka Perfect Girl evolution or PGE) sounds like a very simple story. Four handesome guys are living in an impossibly big mansion and they get offered a deal by their landlady. Turn her neice into a "lady" and the rents free. Who could resist? So far, sounds typical too. But then the guys meet Sunako, a horror loving ungroomed misfit and suddenly the story takes a brilliant twist.
PGE is so awesome it's unbelievable. To be honest, there is no plotline really but a load of random stories of very random things. Not only is it funny, but you still manage to grasp characters personalities and backgrounds along the way. You also get the uncertain, never quite happening, relationship between sunako and Kyouhei.
Nearly everything about this manga breaks the shoujo mold, and it's brilliant. Go read. Of course, the anime is good too but the art lacks ever so slightly .
How it relates (sort of): Slow appears to be about a akward love, which is quite fitting for the main never-really-happening relationship between Sunako and Kyouhei. Maybe?
